- Client-Facing HR Support
- Serve as the main point of contact for multiple clients, providing proactive, high-touch HR support as a fractional HR Business Partner or HR Generalist.
- Build strong relationships and embed yourself in client teams, offering timely, thoughtful advice that aligns with their goals and values.
- Provide coaching and guidance to all levels of management and executives across the full spectrum of HR services, including employee relations, policies, performance management, training, career development, engagement, onboarding, recruitment, and compensation.
- Support clients on day-to-day HR needs, project-based work, and the implementation of people strategies.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Investigate HR issues from reporting to resolution, upholding the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Advise clients confidently on employment legislation and compliance requirements across multiple provinces and territories.
- Support involuntary terminations, restructuring processes, and performance management with professionalism and care.
- Project Management & Culture Work
- Manage multiple client projects and priorities, maintaining clear communication and a strong client service mindset.
- Support the design and delivery of culture audits, engagement surveys, and action plans based on results.
- Assist with the development, monitoring, and reporting of HR metrics and KPIs.
- Training, Development & Business Development
- Contribute to workshops, trainings, and webinars for clients and their teams.
- Take initiative to research unfamiliar topics, develop solutions, and confirm direction with the team when appropriate.
- Actively identify and pursue opportunities to grow business with new and existing clients.
- General
- While most work is performed remotely, occasional in-person meetings or projects may be required.
- Maintain a white-glove, responsive, and professional approach in all client interactions.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years operating as a true HR Business Partner supporting multiple clients or complex organizations.
- Comfort and confidence handling all aspects of HR operations, including employee relations, investigations, documentation, performance management, policy development, and compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices across multiple Canadian jurisdictions.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills—you build trust quickly and can guide clients through complex or sensitive situations with clarity and confidence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects independently without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a primarily remote environment (Teams, SharePoint, and other collaborative tools).
- Ability to be in-person with clients as needed within Calgary or Vancouver (approximately 10% of the time).
- Availability for at least 15–20 hours per week, with at least 75% of hours overlapping with our core business hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm MT
- Friday: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm MT
- CPHR designation, degree, or certificate in Human Resources.
- Experience supporting unionized environments, non-profits, or US-based teams.
- Certification in workplace investigations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
- Previous experience in consulting, fractional HR, or client service roles.
- A natural curiosity and drive to continuously learn and bring forward innovative ideas to enrich the employee and volunteer experience.
