As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the movement and storage of goods within our busy distribution center. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials. This position requires precision, a strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and accurately.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or damages immediately to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways and preventing hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe operating procedures.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and stock verification.
- Follow all guidelines for the proper handling and Lifting of materials.
- Support overall warehouse operations as needed, contributing to the efficiency of our Logistics processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of Logistics operations and material flow.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
