Seeking a certified Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This critical role ensures the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, supporting our complex logistics operations. You will operate forklifts to move, load, and unload inventory, stage products for shipping, and assist with put-away processes. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high productivity standards. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of safe operation and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Your expertise is essential to the smooth functioning of our facility and the timely processing of orders.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move inventory to and from storage locations.
- Stage products for outbound shipments.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management.
- Must wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to a safe work culture is paramount.
