About
We are looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring timely handling of incoming and outgoing goods. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of products within our logistics network and requires a skilled individual committed to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport products to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and stocking as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards and company policies.
- Wear all required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience.
- Proven ability to operate various types of forklifts safely.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics flow.
- Physical ability to climb on and off forklifts, and perform moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
- Willingness to comply with all safety requirements and wear designated PPE.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques is essential.
Working Conditions:
This role is primarily based in a busy warehouse setting. You will be operating heavy machinery and will be on your feet for significant portions of your shift. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety procedures and the mandatory use of PPE is expected. Your role is crucial to the efficient operation of our logistics. Frequent lifting and movement of goods are part of the daily tasks.
