About
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our San Antonio, Texas facility. This role is essential for the efficient flow of materials within our warehouse and throughout our logistics network. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other heavy equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Ensuring the proper and safe handling of all materials is paramount. A strong commitment to Safety, including the correct use of PPE, is required. This position demands physical capability, including regular Lifting, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated locations, ensuring stability and organization.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including strict PPE requirements.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse operational guidelines.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Experience with lifting and moving heavy items, often exceeding 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of Safety at all times.
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be willing to wear all required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
