About
Our Portland, Oregon facility is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support our growing logistics operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and organizing inventory. You will ensure that materials are staged correctly for production or shipment, maintaining accurate inventory records. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting and moving of heavy items. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. You will be an integral part of our logistics chain, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and maintaining a safe, productive work environment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and arrange inventory for optimal space utilization and accessibility.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensure all materials are handled according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Wear all required PPE at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Experience with manual Lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Proficiency in using PPE and understanding its importance.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
