We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in our Richmond, Virginia warehouse. This role is essential for the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently throughout the facility. You will be responsible for moving, sorting, and organizing various products and supplies. Your work directly impacts our ability to fulfill orders and meet delivery schedules. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify the contents of incoming shipments.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
- Sort, organize, and stage materials according to specific order or storage requirements.
- Inspect materials for damage or defects and report any issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered, and safe work environment at all times.
- Operate material handling equipment in a safe and proficient manner.
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the correct and consistent use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks such as cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Actively participate in safety meetings and contribute to a positive safety culture within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial. Must be able to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods. Requires good manual dexterity and coordination. Commitment to workplace safety and strict adherence to safety guidelines, including proper PPE utilization. Team-oriented with good communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
