About
Join our team in Madison, Wisconsin, as a Shipping Clerk and play a key role in our outbound logistics operations. You will be responsible for processing and preparing all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to shipping regulations. Your duties will include verifying shipping orders, selecting the appropriate shipping carriers and services, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with transportation providers. You will also be responsible for staging outgoing shipments, ensuring they are ready for pickup. A thorough understanding of shipping documentation and logistics processes is essential. This role requires meticulous attention to detail to prevent shipping errors and ensure timely delivery to our customers. You will be expected to maintain organized shipping records and assist with inventory management as needed. Safety is our top priority, and all employees are required to follow safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. The role may involve some lifting and moving of packages. Key Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipping orders against product being shipped.
- Select appropriate shipping carriers and service levels.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Schedule pickups with carriers and track shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company and carrier regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field.
- Proficiency with shipping software and online carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to handle moderate lifting.
