We are seeking a motivated Material Handler to join our vibrant warehouse team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is fundamental to the smooth operation of our logistics and distribution processes. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, moving, and preparing materials for shipment. Your daily tasks will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment, and ensuring that all materials are organized and accounted for. You will play a crucial part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of our supply chain. A commitment to safety and a willingness to learn are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process incoming stock and materials.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in designated storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from production or processing areas.
- Pick and fill orders from stock.
- Pack and prepare orders for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all materials for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE and proper Lifting techniques.
