Are you experienced in handling materials in a fast-paced warehouse environment? Our Houston, Texas facility is looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring materials are transported, stored, and prepared for shipping accurately and safely. Your ability to operate material handling equipment and your commitment to safety protocols will be essential to your success. This is a critical position supporting our broader supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors, safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage areas.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
- Accurately track and record the movement of materials within the WMS.
- Stack and arrange materials in a neat and organized manner, ensuring proper placement and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks to maintain accurate records.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Support the overall logistics operations by ensuring materials are readily available for production and shipping.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work with PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
