Description

The Site Superintendent is responsible for the on-site management, coordination, and execution of construction activities across Amico Affiliates' infrastructure and development projects. This role ensures that all field operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and budget targets. The Superintendent leads site crews, manages subcontractors, and serves as the primary on-site representative for quality control and daily progress.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing daily field operations, ensuring work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and project plans.
  • Coordinating and supervising all subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
  • Conducting daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and coordinating sequencing of work.
  • Enforcing Amico's safety policies, applicable legislation, and project-specific safety plans.
  • Identifying site hazards, conducting inspections, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintaining all safety documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.
  • Developing and maintaining the site-level construction schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Monitoring progress and adjusting field activities to meet project milestones.
  • Communicating daily updates, site issues, and risk items to the project team.
  • Ensuring all work meets quality standards and complies with contractual requirements.
  • Reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and technical documentation as required.
  • Performing regular inspections and coordinate testing, commissioning, and deficiency resolution.
  • Maintaining accurate daily site reports, logs, manpower tracking, and equipment records.
  • Overseeing deliveries, material tracking, and site logistics planning.
  • Ensuring site security, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Liaising with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and client representatives.
  • Supporting coordination with utilities, municipalities, and third-party agencies.
  • Representing Amico professionally in all site-based communications.
Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary school education in an Engineering/Construction Management discipline is required.
  • Previous project coordinator experience is required.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of contracts, industry practices and codes.
  • Must possess strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Problem solving skills and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Must be proficient in the English language.
  • Previous HCSS software experience is preferred.
  • Previous scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage and facilitate numerous projects.
  • Self-motivated, self-dedicated, and result oriented.
  • Strong organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines, multitask and follow up.
  • Strong computer skills, using MS Office.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules.
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle, required.
  • MTO experience, an asset.
