Role Overview
Working under the supervision and delegation of a registered Family Physician, the Physician / Clinical Associate will participate in delivering comprehensive patient care according to established clinical guidelines and medical directives.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct focused histories, physical examinations, and follow-up assessments (in-person or virtual), with clear and accurate documentation.
- Interpret clinical findings and diagnostics, and propose management plans for review with the supervising physician.
- Provide chronic disease management support, preventive counselling, health education, and lifestyle guidance aligned with EPICare's longevity-informed care model.
- Assist with routine primary care including women's health, pediatric visits, mental health assessments, and geriatric care.
- Promote screenings, vaccinations, and population health initiatives.
- Perform controlled acts that have been specifically delegated under approved medical directives, in accordance with the RHPA.
- Maintain detailed charting within Avaros EMR and uphold all privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- International Medical Graduate (IMG) or internationally trained physician with relevant clinical experience.
- Strong proficiency in the English language (verbal and written) is mandatory.
- Canadian clinical experience is a strong asset, though international experience will also be considered.
- Experience in primary care, community medicine, internal medicine, or family practice (internationally or in Canada) is preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment, adaptability, and familiarity with patient-centred care approaches.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Eligibility to work in Ontario is required.
- Note: CAPA certification is not applicable or required for IMGs in this role.
