Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, unpacking, and preparing materials for distribution. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, performing inventory checks, and ensuring that all items are accounted for and stored correctly. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and possess excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming materials and compare paperwork for discrepancies.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in designated storage areas.
  • Read production schedules, customer orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to the designated area.
  • Use lifting devices such as pallet jacks or hand trucks.
  • Weigh or count items and record inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of all materials.
  • Communicate with supervisors and coworkers to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of Logistics principles.
  • Commitment to Safety standards and regulations.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
