About
We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our Chicago, Illinois logistics team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and processing all deliveries. Your attention to detail is critical in ensuring that we receive the correct products in good condition, which directly impacts our inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. This is a vital position within our supply chain, supporting the seamless flow of products into our warehouse. We seek organized and efficient individuals who understand the importance of accurate record-keeping and safe handling practices. You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our incoming logistics processes.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding deliveries.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and use of PPE is required.
