We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Los Angeles, California. This role is essential for maintaining the efficient flow of materials within our facility and supporting our overall logistics chain. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, store, and retrieve inventory. Key duties include loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for production or shipment, and ensuring accurate inventory counts. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and all Material Handlers must adhere to strict protocols, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will have experience with various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, possess excellent attention to detail, and maintain a strong safety record. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Stage materials for production lines or shipping areas.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use required PPE at all times.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
