Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming shipments. Your duties will include verifying incoming goods against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, documenting receipts, and coordinating the movement of received items to their designated storage locations. Maintaining organized records and ensuring the safety of the receiving area are top priorities. This position requires diligence, accuracy, and a commitment to adhering to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
  • Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments from carriers.
  • Verify contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy in items and quantities.
  • Identify and document any damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
  • Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move received goods.
  • Tag and label incoming inventory appropriately.
  • Enter receiving data accurately into the inventory management system.
  • Stage received goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving issues.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or as a general laborer is preferred. Ability to read and interpret purchase orders and packing lists. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds. Basic computer skills for data entry. Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE is essential. This role offers a competitive hourly wage within the $16.00-$24.00 range, based on experience, and opportunities for career development in our logistics operations.
