Job Summary:
Join our fast-paced logistics center in Chicago, Illinois, as a Shipping Clerk. You will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This position involves coordinating with various departments, preparing shipping documentation, and ensuring that all packages meet carrier requirements. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining shipping records, tracking shipments, and communicating with carriers. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are paramount to success in this role. You will be an integral part of our supply chain, contributing to the smooth flow of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process all outgoing domestic and international shipments.
  • Verify shipping addresses, order details, and product information for accuracy.
  • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and update tracking information in the system.
  • Ensure packages are properly packed and labeled according to carrier regulations and company standards.
  • Operate shipping software and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, sales teams, and customer service regarding shipping status.
  • Adhere strictly to Safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Assist with receiving and verifying incoming shipments as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in logistics or business is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role within a Logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle moderate Lifting and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of PPE requirements for warehouse operations.
