We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are accurately accounted for and processed efficiently. Your role is crucial to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting our broader Logistics operations. We place a high value on Safety, and all personnel are expected to adhere to rigorous Safety standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess strong communication skills. Prior experience in receiving or warehouse operations is preferred. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from carriers.
- Inspect shipments for damage and discrepancies; document any issues.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage incoming merchandise for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Support Logistics by ensuring timely and accurate receiving of goods.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate physical activity, including Lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety procedures and Logistics principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
