We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management systems. You will be responsible for overseeing inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing corrective actions, and improving inventory control processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory best practices, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with warehouse and management teams to optimize stock levels and minimize losses. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and refine inventory control procedures and policies.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage inventory reporting and communicate findings to management.
- Oversee the proper storage and handling of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Work with the operations team to optimize warehouse layout and stock placement for efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all inventory management regulations and best practices.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of inventory management, including the use of PPE and adherence to lifting guidelines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar role. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with inventory management software and MS Excel. Detailed understanding of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, when necessary. Must be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Safety is paramount; you must strictly follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
