About
We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator for our bustling warehouse in New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and stack materials. Your expertise ensures the efficient and secure handling of goods within our facility, contributing significantly to our Logistics operations. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace Safety , and you must be committed to following all safety procedures and wearing the necessary PPE . This position involves significant operation of machinery and requires attention to detail, as well as the ability to handle varied tasks. Proficiency in Lifting and maneuvering goods with a forklift is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials and products.
- Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any issues immediately.
- Transport materials to and from designated warehouse areas.
- Accurately pick and place pallets in designated racking or staging areas.
- Ensure all loads are stable and secure before transport.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies, procedures, and traffic rules within the warehouse.
- Wear all required PPE , including safety shoes, vests, and hard hats as needed.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Lifting and moving heavy objects with a forklift.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when not operating the forklift.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the warehouse operations.
- Understand and follow warehouse inventory management principles.
- Basic understanding of Logistics and shipping/receiving processes is a plus.
- Properly charge and maintain forklift batteries as required.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding material handling.
