About
Join our logistics team in Durham, North Carolina, as a skilled Forklift Operator. We are seeking experienced individuals to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials within our distribution center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and store inventory. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong commitment to safety, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations. Experience with various types of forklifts and material handling equipment is essential. You will be required to adhere to all company safety regulations, including the diligent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role demands physical capability and a keen awareness of your surroundings to maintain a safe and productive work environment. We are committed to fostering a positive and secure workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, rack, and unstack inventory.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping containers.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment before and after each shift, reporting any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that aisles and pathways remain clear.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and staging as needed to support overall warehouse operations.
- Conduct inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse supervisors and team members to meet operational goals.
- Ensure that all movements of goods are handled efficiently to minimize damage and delays.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid forklift operator certification.
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanning technology is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach to safety and problem-solving.
