About
Our logistics operation in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team. This position is fundamental to our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately documented, inspected, and processed. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the intake of inventory, verifying deliveries against purchase orders, and ensuring all items are properly recorded in our system. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount in this role. A strong commitment to safety and efficient workflow is essential for success. You will play a key role in maintaining inventory integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect items for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report any issues.
- Enter receiving data accurately into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received inventory as required.
- Organize and stage received materials for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, inventory, or warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency with data entry and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting, up to 40 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
