We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing logistics operation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize stock loss. Your role will contribute significantly to the efficiency of our supply chain and the overall success of our logistics department. This position involves regular movement throughout the warehouse and requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds. Adherence to all safety protocols and the mandatory use of required PPE is paramount. Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across all warehouse locations.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Utilize WMS (Warehouse Management System) for accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend actions.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all stock to prevent damage or loss.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to forecast inventory needs.
  • Train new team members on inventory control procedures.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure correct use of PPE in all inventory-related tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics framework.
  • Perform regular checks on product conditions and report any damages.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related field.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
