Our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of materials. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing inventory. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to safety are crucial for success in this role. You will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times and follow all established safety protocols. This position involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of heavy objects, typically up to 75 pounds, and operating heavy machinery. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, directly impacting our ability to serve our customers effectively. We are looking for experienced, reliable individuals with a proven track record in material handling and a strong work ethic. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and order picking as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of warehouse work areas.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Participate in inventory management activities.
- Ensure the efficient movement of materials within the logistics flow.
- Engage in regular heavy lifting and the operation of demanding equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift certification is often required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Experience with loading/unloading trailers.
- Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds) and strenuous physical tasks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE .
