We are expanding our operations in Boston, Massachusetts, and are seeking skilled Material Handlers to join our logistics team. This role is essential for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your ability to safely and efficiently manage materials is key to our supply chain's success. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively. You will be involved in loading and unloading trucks, receiving and shipping goods, and ensuring that inventory is stored properly. Your proactive approach to maintaining a clean and organized work environment is highly valued. Strict adherence to all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is required. This position involves frequent manual labor, including significant lifting of items up to 50 pounds, as well as operating machinery. Responsibilities:
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers.
- Receiving, identifying, and staging materials.
- Storing materials in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Transporting materials to and from production or shipping areas.
- Performing regular inventory counts and checks.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and using required PPE.
- Assisting with shipping and receiving documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Commitment to wearing and maintaining PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
