We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to join our logistics team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is crucial for the smooth and safe movement of materials throughout our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, and all employees are expected to adhere to strict safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE. This position requires significant physical exertion, including frequent lifting and operating heavy machinery, so a good level of physical fitness is essential. Your role is key to our logistics chain, ensuring timely and accurate movement of goods. We foster a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage locations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory checks.
- Contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform significant lifting, up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
