We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our advanced logistics center in Boston, Massachusetts. You will analyze inventory data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve efficiency. This position requires a proactive approach, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. We maintain rigorous safety standards, and all team members must strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE. This role involves some physical tasks, including lifting, and requires a commitment to a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and minimize obsolescence.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient inventory storage and retrieval.
- Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to manage stock levels.
- Generate reports on inventory status, accuracy, and turnover.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
- Excellent understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks as needed.
- Knowledge of safety best practices, including PPE requirements.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
