The ability to perform heavy lifting and operate material handling equipment is crucial for success. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, or shipping docks.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated areas, ensuring stability and proper organization.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
- Assist with receiving and stocking of incoming goods.
- Ensure all materials are handled in accordance with safety guidelines and company policies.
- Properly use and maintain PPE at all times.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Certification for forklift operation is a significant advantage.
- Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting, with maximum weight typically up to 50-75 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and logistics principles.
- Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Commitment to wearing all required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
