About
We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our busy logistics center in Los Angeles, California. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to load, unload, and transport goods. Attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage.
- Assist with inventory control procedures, including cycle counts.
- Ensure that all materials are properly stored and organized.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
