We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our busy logistics operations in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials throughout our facility. This role is crucial for maintaining workflow and ensuring that materials are readily available for production and shipping. You will operate various types of equipment and adhere to strict Safety protocols. A strong understanding of material flow and a commitment to workplace Safety are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload goods.
- Transport materials to and from various work areas, including receiving, storage, and shipping docks.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to maximize space and ensure Safety.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on all equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, free from obstructions.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain functions of the facility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or similar role, including forklift operation.
- Certification to operate forklifts is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
