Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Portland, Oregon. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout our facility. Your primary duties will involve loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other equipment, and ensuring materials are stored correctly. This position is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring a smooth flow of goods from receiving to shipment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and management to maintain inventory accuracy and uphold our high standards of productivity. A strong commitment to safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is paramount. This role requires physical stamina, as significant lifting will be involved.
Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with stock management.
  • Inspect equipment for defects and report any issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Follow all guidelines regarding the use of required PPE.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certification a plus).
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that involve frequent lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in basic math and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
