About
We are looking for a motivated Material Handler to join our expanding logistics operations in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the movement and handling of materials within our warehouse, ensuring efficiency and safety in all operations. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, organizing inventory, and assisting with order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse or industrial setting, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Understanding and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential for this position. You will be a crucial part of our supply chain, ensuring materials are moved correctly and efficiently to support production and distribution. This role requires physical stamina, the ability to perform frequent lifting, and a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in material handling and inventory management. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Move, store, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and utilize appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals.
- Perform frequent heavy lifting of materials up to 60 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent and heavy lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Strong understanding of material handling principles.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is a plus.
