About
Our logistics team in Washington, D.C. is looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our operations. In this role, you will be crucial to the efficient movement and organization of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving, stocking, and preparing materials for dispatch. You'll operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, and ensure that all items are handled carefully and stored appropriately. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe working environment, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE , is expected. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team. You will be involved in loading and unloading trucks, which often requires significant lifting of up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming inventory.
- Retrieve materials for outgoing shipments and prepare them for transit.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and wear required PPE .
- Support efficient logistics operations through diligent work.
- Perform manual lifting and carrying of materials as necessary.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience is advantageous.
- Ability to operate manual material handling equipment.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Capable of regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety .
- Willingness to consistently wear and use all appropriate PPE .
- Basic understanding of warehouse logistics .
