We are looking for a skilled and experienced Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for the efficient movement and organization of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, managing inventory flow, and ensuring a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in warehouse operations and a commitment to safety and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, with a strong emphasis on the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control procedures, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and safe work environment conducive to efficient logistics.
- Identify and report any safety concerns or operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational objectives.
- Perform other warehouse tasks as assigned to support the overall function of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts and other relevant equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and prolonged standing/walking.
- Solid understanding of warehouse logistics, inventory control, and material flow.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of safety awareness and adhering to all PPE requirements.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
