We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our operations in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials within our warehouse, ensuring that goods are transported safely and efficiently. Your work is critical to maintaining the smooth flow of our supply chain and logistics processes. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-conscious, and possesses a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations, maintaining accuracy and order.
- Perform regular inspections of material handling equipment, reporting any issues for maintenance.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations, including strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and verification of material stock.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from obstructions to ensure safe logistics operations.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
- Support receiving and shipping departments as needed.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve operational goals and continuous improvement in our logistics.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (certification preferred).
- Ability to perform significant lifting (up to 50 lbs) and physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory control principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential overtime.
