Position Overview:
We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Class 3 Drivers to join our growing team at our busy trucking company, and recycling center based at 1355 Fisher Road. You'll be part of an expanding fleet and have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while ensuring that our operations run smoothly while adhering to safety regulations and providing excellent service to our customers. Key Responsibilities:
Hauling Operations: Safely operate end dumps, hauling materials to and from various locations in the southern-mid Vancouver Island region, including Greater Victoria, Cowichan Valley, and the Gulf Islands.
Route Management: Follow assigned routes efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to safety guidelines and regulations.
Tech Usage: Use dispatching software on your mobile device to manage route assignments, input information, and track deliveries in real-time.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and WCB regulations. Maintain a safe driving record and perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure that the vehicle is maintained in good working order and report any issues to the Fleet, Transportation and Logistics Manager for timely resolution.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and site personnel to ensure smooth deliveries and excellent customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Class 3 Driver's License required
Comfortable using mobile devices and dispatching software to manage routes and input information.
Safe driving record is a must.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to manage long drives and potentially heavy lifting during loading/unloading.
Availability to work Saturdays due to varying routes, though we offer flexibility on days off during the week.
Knowledge of safety procedures in trucking and recycling environments.
