BlueStone Properties Inc. has been an award-winning industry leader in property management, construction and development for three generations. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Controller due to an internal promotion.
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will oversee the daily accounting operations including data processing, monthly closing, commercial leasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, EFT and reconciliations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop a team of 5 financial professionals
- Participate in strategic meetings and planning
- Complete financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Review monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and cheque runs for Self-Storage division
- Liaise with construction, development and IT to develop and maintain job costs and project accounting systems to manage transaction processing and reporting for capital projects
- Assist in the monitoring of internal controls and improving efficiencies within the department and the organization
- Prepare and manage annual CAM & TAX estimations, files, recoveries and reconciliation
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of continuous progressive financial experience in a leadership role, preferably in real estate, property management or construction
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- CPA designation
- Advanced Excel abilities, Yardi experience an asset
- Demonstrated analytical skills and strong problem solving
- Leadership skills and demonstrated skill developing and maintaining relationships
- Successful completion of criminal background check (paid by BlueStone)
- Proof of valid driver's license, access to vehicle in good working order with liability insurance of $1,000,000 or more.
