About
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments:
- Perform thorough evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Administer standardized tests, observation, and interviews to gather relevant information.
2. Develop and implement treatment plans:
- Create customized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs, goals, and abilities.
- Employ a variety of therapeutic activities, exercises, and resources to facilitate skill development.
3. Provide direct therapy services:
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to students with communication disorders.
- Use a range of modalities, such as articulation therapy, language intervention, fluency therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
4. Collaborate with educators and parents:
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school personnel to support students' educational goals.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Communicate regularly with parents, sharing progress updates, providing recommendations for home-based activities, and addressing concerns.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation:
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment plans according to school policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain confidential student records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Texas state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience working with children or adolescents with speech and language disorders, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of various communication disorders, assessment tools, and therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, manage caseloads, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
