Role Overview
We are seeking a *Chief Product Officer (CPO)* to own Mito Red Light’s *entire product ecosystem end-to-end*, including:
* *Mobile app strategy and development*
* *Website product experience and CRO*
* *New product development and launches*
* *Safety, quality, and regulatory compliance for both new and existing products*
* Own *mobile apps, websites, and physical products* together
This is a *high-ownership executive role* for a product leader who can scale connected software and physical products *without compromising safety, compliance, or customer trust*.
What You Will Own1. Mobile App & Digital Product Ownership
* Own the *vision, roadmap, and execution* of Mito Red Light’s mobile app and connected product experience
* Lead feature development, reliability improvements, UX enhancements, and app-device integration
* Ensure app functionality aligns with product performance, safety requirements, and user outcomes
* Treat the app as a *core product*, not a support tool
2. Website Product Experience & CRO Ownership
* Own the *website as a product surface*, specifically:
* Product pages (PDPs)
* Product configuration and comparison flows
* Launch pages for new products
* Own *product-led CRO*, focused on:
* Product clarity and comprehension
* Feature and benefit communication
* App ↔ product ↔ website alignment
* Maintain *final authority* over:
* Product claims
* Compliance language
* Safety disclosures and warnings
* Partner with Marketing on creative execution and traffic while retaining ownership of *what the website communicates about the product*
Traffic, campaigns, and brand storytelling remain Marketing-led; *product truth and compliance remain CPO-owned*.3. New Product Development & Launches
* Own the *end-to-end lifecycle* of new products:
* Concept → design → validation → certification → manufacturing readiness → launch
* Lead cross-functional development across hardware, accessories, skincare, and connected products
* Serve as *go / no-go authority* for product launches
* Ensure app and website readiness are aligned at launch
4. Product Safety, Quality & Compliance (New + Existing Products)
* Act as the *single executive owner* of product safety and compliance
* Conduct structured reviews of *all existing and legacy products*
* Identify and close safety, quality, and compliance gaps through:
* Design updates
* Documentation and labeling improvements
* Additional testing or certification
* Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including:
* UL / ETL / IEC
* CPSC and FTC
* FDA general wellness frameworks
* International requirements (CE, UKCA, TGA, etc.)
* Own risk assessments, CAPA processes, post-market surveillance, and recall readiness
5. Product Strategy & Cross-Functional Leadership
* Own the *product roadmap* across hardware, app, and website experiences
* Balance innovation speed with safety, compliance, and customer trust
* Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Customer Experience
* Eliminate ambiguity around product decisions and ownership
What Success Looks Like
* Mobile app reliability, usability, and engagement improve measurably
* Website conversion improves through *product clarity*, not aggressive claims
* New products launch on time without compliance-driven delays
* Existing products are reviewed, documented, and defensible
* CEO is no longer the default owner of product, compliance, or website decisions
Qualifications
* 10+ years in product leadership (VP Product, Head of Product, Director of Product)
* Experience owning *mobile apps, websites, and physical products* together
* Proven success launching consumer hardware or regulated wellness products
* Strong understanding of:
* Product safety and compliance processes
* CRO tied to product UX and understanding
* Comfortable operating with high ownership and decision authority
Preferred Experience
* Connected devices / IoT ecosystems
* Consumer electronics, wellness tech, or medical-adjacent products
* International product launches
* App-driven product ecosystems
