*Job Summary:*We are seeking a Registered Vascular Sonographer to perform a variety of non-invasive vascular ultrasound studies, including cerebrovascular, venous, arterial, physiologic, graft surveillance, dialysis access, vein mapping, abdominal, mesenteric, renal, and TCD exams. Responsibilities include managing daily workloads, following lab protocols, maintaining strong communication and computer skills, participating in QA and research initiatives, and rotating on an after-hours emergency call schedule.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Perform comprehensive non-invasive cardiovascular studies for patients in the Vascular Lab at Erlanger Medical Center
* Conduct diagnostic procedures as ordered and assess the need for additional information based on patient condition
* Complete accurate measurements and procedure worksheets for physician interpretation
* Interact effectively and professionally with physicians, nursing units, patients, and other service users
* Take initiative to continuously expand knowledge of specialty area, disease processes, and evolving procedures
* Apply principles of growth and development across the lifespan to assess patient data and determine age-specific care needs
* Provide patient care in accordance with unit policies and procedures
* Participate in annual clinical competency evaluations using direct observation, skills review labs, and self-assessment
* Focus on population-specific needs of patients and maintain high standards of professional performance
*Education:*
* Graduate of a CAAHEP or CMA approved school of ultrasound or vascular technology education program and considered registry eligible by the ARDMS.
* Preferred: Registered Vascular Technologist through the ARDMS
*Position Requirement(s): *
* ARDMS Registered, RVT
* BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward
* Medical and/or hospital clinical experience
*Preferred Requirement(s): *
* Registered Vascular Technologist with one-year previous experience in medical and/or hospital clinical setting.
* Basic computer experience demonstrated by either 1 to 2 years work experience or college level courses.
