The Role: Contributes to the overall strategic engineering and test vision of the Voice Core Engineering and Test organization to analyze test requirements, provide test solutions, and support deployment into production as needed for assigned projects. Provides technical expertise in Linux/Unix systems administration, Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL database management, scripting automation, and system performance optimization. A strong emphasis is placed on cloud-readiness and infrastructure configuration to support scalable voice services. Provides engineering and test support for resolving network-related issues, collaborating across operations and support teams to maintain platform integrity and service continuity. Undertakes multiple Voice Core Engineering and Test projects and may require coordination across multiple business units. This position will specifically focus on quality assurance testing with a concentration on operating systems and infrastructure for voice platforms serving internal stakeholders, partners and customer hardware and applications. Understands that projects have defined timelines and missed dates impact performance. Location: This is a work from home position within the US. The Main Responsibilities: Administer and optimize Linux/Unix systems, including advanced scripting and automation for performance and reliability Participate in virtualization and cloud computing solution readiness initiatives and contribute to automated deployment solutions Collaborate the testing and implementation of innovative technologies, processes, and tools within voice environments Deploy and support revenue-generating voice technologies in high-availability, large-scale network environments Apply deep knowledge of network security, server operating systems, virtualization, and open-source platforms Configure, operate, and maintain voice test platforms, ensuring robust simulation and validation environments and translate architectural and engineering input into technical requirements and design support materials Develop test plans to assess system scalability, performance, redundancy, and maintainability and document and properly communicate test/certification results that reflect production-level behavior and reliability Peer-review architectural designs to ensure they align with voice strategy and engineering standards and collaborate on long-term voice platform and service strategy, including planning, process evolution, and product improvements Analyze complex test data and functional outcomes to drive quality assurance in diverse, real-world conditions Draft clear concise method of procedure (MOP) documents for both internal and external teams Provide subject matter expertise during deployments, activations, and maintenance cycles Work closely with cross-functional partners to gather and refine technical requirements What We Look For In A Candidate: Education and Experience: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in system administration, automation scripting, testing, or operations, preferably within large-scale or enterprise environments Cloud computing solutions such as public providers AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, as well as private environments like VMWare. Understanding of Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL database performance management. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail in dynamic, fast-paced settings Strong organizational skills and time management discipline to meet critical testing and deployment deadlines. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Knowledge, Skills or Abilities: Deep expertise in data networking principles, with full professional competency in area of specialization Strong analytical skillsexperienced in evaluating complex technical issues and communicating distilled insights clearly Skilled in troubleshooting, risk identification, and proactive problem resolution across diverse environments Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaborative and autonomous work styles Demonstrated leadership potential and mentoring abilities in team and cross-functional settings Highly professional, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the flexibility to work nights, weekends, or non-standard shifts to meet critical deadlines Compensation: This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors. Location Based Pay Ranges: $82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY. $87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI. $91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
