An exciting opportunity awaits a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma! We need a reliable individual to manage the outgoing flow of goods from our distribution center. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring customer orders are dispatched correctly and efficiently. This role is fundamental to our logistics network, requiring excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities:
- Generate and affix shipping labels and packing slips accurately.
- Schedule and confirm pick-ups with common carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality and carrier standards.
- Maintain up-to-date shipping logs and digital records.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Process all necessary shipping documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist with inventory verification and stock management tasks.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and box cutters safely.
- Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient warehouse environment by following all safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to handle packages and perform occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all procedures.
