We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator to join our advanced logistics facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is critical for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will be a certified forklift operator with a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a productive work environment. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Ensuring the safe and proper handling of materials is paramount. This position requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work safely around other personnel and equipment. Compliance with all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This is a physically demanding role that involves operating heavy machinery, as well as occasional lifting and moving of materials. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure safe operation and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse storage areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting as needed.
- Ensure the warehouse environment remains clean and free of obstructions.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors and management to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- This position requires occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Work cooperately with team members to achieve operational goals.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in logistics operations is a significant advantage.
