About
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our facility in Washington, D.C. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory accuracy and control within our warehouse. This includes performing regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, maintaining inventory records, and implementing strategies to minimize stock loss. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our logistics operations. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems and a keen eye for detail are essential. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to uphold all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This role requires analytical skills, organizational prowess, and the ability to work independently. While not primarily a lifting role, some occasional lifting may be required. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to prevent loss and damage.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away processes to ensure accuracy.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) as required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with operations and purchasing teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Generate inventory reports for management review.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and mandatory use of PPE in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
