Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory within our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse. This role is critical for ensuring that our stock levels are precise, minimizing discrepancies, and optimizing warehouse operations. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory procedures, conducting regular audits, and utilizing our inventory management system to its full potential. This position requires a strong analytical mind, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and maintain the accuracy of inventory records using the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to ensure product freshness and minimize obsolescence.
  • Coordinate with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping departments to ensure accurate inventory movements.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status, including potential shortages or overages.
  • Ensure the safe and organized storage of all inventory items.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • May involve some lifting of inventory items up to 30 lbs for counts or relocation.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices within logistics.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
