About
Seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join our bustling logistics center in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. This position requires a skilled and safety-conscious individual proficient in operating various types of forklifts, including reach trucks, pallet jacks, and counterbalance forklifts. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage locations, and staging goods for shipment. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as performing pre-operation checks on equipment, is essential. Safety is paramount in our operations, and all employees are expected to strictly adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE). The ability to perform manual lifting and work in varying temperature conditions may be necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Safely pick and place inventory in designated rack locations.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Comply with WMS or other inventory tracking systems.
- Participate in cycle counts and inventory checks.
- Support overall logistics operations and teamwork.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and best practices for forklift operation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to wear required PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
