Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a challenging opportunity in Chicago, Illinois? We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our busy logistics hub. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, relocating inventory, and supporting order fulfillment processes. Your proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and your commitment to safety will be essential. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and maintaining our high standards of service.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into warehouse racking.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics department.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Knowledge of logistics operations and material handling procedures.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
