About
Join our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a Material Handler. This position is essential for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and ensuring materials are organized for optimal workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of material handling techniques, a commitment to safety, and the physical ability to manage materials of varying weights. Experience with various types of warehouse equipment is a must. You will play a critical role in maintaining an orderly, safe, and productive warehouse environment. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe lifting practices are critical components of this role. Your dedication to efficient material movement supports our entire supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Organize and stack materials in an orderly manner.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
- Support the logistics department in achieving operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role. Valid forklift certification preferred. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor. Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics. Understanding of safety regulations and the importance of PPE. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team. Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This is a physically demanding role that requires dedication to safety and efficiency in all logistics tasks.
