About
Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our operations team. This role is key to ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed into our inventory system. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring that all goods are handled with care and efficiency. Your attention to detail is crucial for the integrity of our logistics and inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against purchase orders and invoices.
- Accurately document all received items in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding deliveries and returns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Tasks involve moderate physical exertion, including regular lifting of up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with WMS and/or inventory management software is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and supply chain logistics .
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE correctly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and moderate lifting .
- Must be reliable and punctual.
