*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
The Senior Diesel Mechanic must perform troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuild major components on heavy equipment such as Loaders, Skid steers, Haul trucks, Dozers, Excavators and other, also on Crushers and vehicles, and preventive maintenance inspection (PMI);. Ensures accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA/MSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
* Performs preventive maintenance inspections and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
* Performs proficient inspection, diagnosis, and moderately complex repair of assigned crushers, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
* Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other maintenance personnel.
* Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
* Estimates time and material costs on repairs and requisitions of new parts.
* Advises supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
* Inspects the quality of outside/supplier repairs and or rebuilds. Assesses structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s).
* Performs repairs for emergency breakdowns.
* Conducts safety checks on vehicles. Performs maintenance-related work as required.
*Requirements/Qualifications*
*Experience requirements:*
5 years (minimum) mechanical experience working on Heavy Equipment
5 years (minimum) experience in Diesel engine troubleshooting skills with various engine manufacturers.
5 years (minimum) experience with basic fabrication, use, and application of welders and gas torch systems
5 years (minimum) experience performing preventative maintenance
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Physical Requirements:*
· Climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, frequent lifting of 50 pounds, occasional lifting of 75 to 100 pounds, stretching, driving/sitting, using pneumatic and power tools
· Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather and wet environments
· Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday;
· Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements often;
*Other Knowledge, Skills*, *or Abilities Required*
* Skill in operating tools equipment, parts, and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment
* Skill in repair of special purpose equipment, ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks
* Ability to diagnose defects in and repair a variety of equipment and vehicles
* Ability to utilize a fleet maintenance software program
*Conditions of Employment*
· Able to work at varying starting times including weekends
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Legally eligible to work in the United States.
· Ability to perform physical requirements of the position.
· Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen.
. Willing to work on different schedules.
· Successful candidate must submit a pre-employment application, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
· Pre-employment and random drug tests are required.
· No smoking on premises
· MSHA training will be provided
· Must have own tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
